A network of arts, cultural & heritage groups and individuals working to enhance
the economic well being and cultural vitality of the Sunshine Coast from Langdale
to Lund. Registered non profit since 1998. The CCA produces a monthly events calendar
for distribution on the Sunshine Coast as well as the annual
Purple Banner Studio
& Gallery Guide.
Sponsored by the Powell River Rotary Club, the Festival is based on the fundamental idea of giving all participants the best possible support for their artistic development. The festival provides the opportunity for participants to learn from each other and to gain stage experience in a friendly atmosphere. Every performer who enters in this spirit will learn, and be a “winner” in the true sense of the word.
The Festival has been a Powell River tradition for over 65 years offering opportunities to a wide range of performing artists including piano, voice, strings, wind and brass instruments, speech arts, and amateur choirs, bands, string and jazz ensembles.

Promoting the Arts
Communities, big and small, are the richer for having a strong arts presence. Organizations, such as those listed here in Powell River and Texada Island, work hard and volunteer many hours to make sure the arts, in all its forms, remain integral to the communities on the Upper Sunshine Coast.
