Established in 1955, The Powell River Chorus has been delighting audiences with their music ever since. Their Christmas Concert and Wassail (a festivity or revel with drinking of health) is a seasonal favourite.
Celebration of Cultural Diversity

Newcomers and visitors agree that the townspeople of Powell River are known to extend a warm welcome to everyone, including those from other lands and different cultures. Started in 2010, the aptly named Celebration of Cultural Diversity provides an opportunity for people of different ethnic backgrounds to share their culture through food, dance and demonstrations.
Sponsored by inclusion Powell River, the Festival of Trees has been a holiday tradition since 1995. Local businesses's donate decorated trees, which can be won with the purchase of a ticket. Proceeds go to the Wish Fund.
The Powell River & District Christmas Cheer committee has been providing hampers and toys for needy families in the area since 1984. Relying entirely on donations, the committee helps around 250 families each year including around 300 children. You can help by donating money, adopting a family, purchasing gifts, or volunteering your time.
Groups and people can sign up for the Adopt-A-Family program in which they take over the responsibility of purchasing Christmas dinner groceries and gifts for members of a selected family.
