Private Groups & Calendars
Included in the calendar service is a feature that allows creating up to 50 user groups and 40 calendars. One example of how the feature can be used is that a group can have their own calendar, which is only visible to their group members so that events such practices and executive meetings could be posted. Another example is to use the calendar for organizing volunteers for an event. This feature was used very successfully for the Cat Scan committee.
How it works is that each member of the group would be given the screen name and password issued to the group. When logged in the private calendar becomes visible by clicking the small arrow under Select Calendar.
Please take note that anyone given the screen name and password can add or edit events. This works very well in the case of organizing volunteers because each group member can enter their own name and contact info for a particular date and time. However, for other types of calendars a certain amount of caution might be appropriate.
To request a private calendar either reply to the original email sent with the login information or use the form on the calendar.
