Registering to add events to the calendar is free for non-profit groups thanks to
the financial support of the Powell River Economic Development Society, Tourism Powell
River and the Chamber of Commerce. The Arts Council supports the calendar by including
a summary of events in its weekly community newsletter.
The goals of the calendar are to
- maintain a comprehensive community calendar where organizations can add events, meetings
and other information without going through a third party;
- enable groups to plan events ahead with a minimum of conflict;
- obtain the participation of all organizations on the Upper Sunshine Coast, including
sports and recreational groups;
- have a single, online calendar for the area that the general public uses to plan
activities; and finally
- promote Powell River area events with links to the calendar.
- To ensure the calendar succeeds as an effective tool for organizations and the community
as a whole, we are asking all participating groups to
- tell their members, friends and associates about the calendar and request they use
it to plan their activities; and
- put a link to the calendar (http://www.powellriverdirect.com/calendar/) on their
website.
Register
Once the registration email is received the group’s representative will
receive the needed screen name and password to add events.
