Ann Snow, a Lund resident and webmistress of the Lund, BC website, writes:
Lund is located on Canada’s west coast a short 28 km north of Powell River on BC’s Sunshine Coast. Lund is located at Mile 0 of Highway 101, also known as the Pacific Coastal Highway, one of the world’s longest highways. The other end of the highway is in Quellon, Chile, 15,202km south!
Established in 1889 by two brothers from Sweden, the has since become a thriving fishing village with an abundance of shellfish, prawns and rockfish. In the summer visitors arrive to enjoy Lund’s charm and proximity to Desolation Sound Provincial Marine Park, the Copeland Islands, Okeover Inlet, and tropical Savary Island.
Lund has a hotel, post office, general store, liquor store, restaurants and pub, bakery, campground, kayak rental shop, artisan gallery, sweater shop, boat tour operators, boat launch and marina, marine fuel dock, but no gas station.
Lund is a pleasant surprise; small and friendly, the locals are easygoing and helpful. A great place for adventure or relaxation!
