Alano Club of Powell River

The Alano Club provides a social atmosphere where men and women can have a cup of coffee, talk to friends, play cards or pool. No alcohol or drugs permitted. People under the influence of either are requested to come back another time.  

Hours: 10:00 to 3:00 and 7:00 to 11:00 daily.

Carlson Community Club

A not for profit community service club (formerly the Moose Club).  Our club, through its' membership fees ($45/year - $75 couple) and other fund raising projects,  provides financial assistance to worthwhile organizations throughout the Powell River Regional area.  We welcome anyone who wishes to become a member and support local organizations. We also provide a licensed lounge for our members to spend time socializing with other members and guests.

Services to the community include bus stop benches, senior citizens’ housing (Kiwanis Village, formerly Evergreen Court, Kiwanis Assisted Living Building), Kiwanis Lifeline, scholarships and assistance to programs for children.

A non-profit society established in 1987 to provide educational and life skills programs to persons with mental illness. The program is funded through the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority and employs three part time Prevocational Rehabilitation Workers.  The Clubhouse is a safe, social outlet for its’ members with a light lunch, coffee and good conversation available. Member initiated programs of arts and crafts are also enjoyed at the Club.
