Arts and culture have been an integral part of the area since 1910 because the forefathers of Powell River  believed it was essential to a strong, vibrant community.
Today an estimated 500 artists and artisans call the Powell River region home with hundreds more that visit each year.  For a relatively small population, we have a lot to offer. There are two theatres, a music academy, two dance schools and two museums. Events are held throughout the year that provide opportunities for both the visual and performing arts.
